Maureen is a former UK Chief Police Officer who has extensive national and international experience at strategic level.  In 2008 Maureen was seconded as Senior Advisor to the EU in Brussels where she provided advice to government officials and police leaders. During 2011/12 Maureen was the UK Policing Adviser to the new Libya Government advising on police reform. She subsequently provided strategic and operational planning guidance to the Ministry of Interior and National Security in Guyana and Somalia and has conducted a wide range of assessments and reviews of rule of law, security sector reform (SSR) and development programmes. Maureen is involved in training and development, specialising in the professionalisation of personnel working in international operations. She is a Mentor on EU and UN Senior Command programmes and is an Associate of the Scottish Institute of Policing Research and the Folke Bernadotte Academy, Sweden.  In 2011 Maureen was awarded the UK Queen’s Police Medal (QPM) for distinguished service to policing.
