Our PhD student, Stefan Roch recommends that you sometimes venture outside the city:
Do you know that feeling? You are sitting in the library at the end of a long week, in front of you a big pile of books and all you want is to get out, breathe deeply and relax. In that case, the Buda and Pilis hills may just be what you are looking for. On the outskirts of Budapest you can find a great number of walking and hiking trails that are easy to reach by public transport from anywhere in town. In less than an hour you can get out of the vibrant city and dive into calm and quiet nature. If you feel like, you can walk alone. Particularly in the Buda hills it is impossible to get lost. If you feel like hiking in a group, join the popular CEU hiking club and enjoy some of the trips the “Magyarnauts” go onto regularly.
