The 4th IZA Workshop on EU Enlargement and the Labor Markets this year co-organized by IZA Bonn and CEUR under the title “Migration, Crisis, and Adjustment in an Enlarged E(M)U” marked the long-standing commitment of IZA and CEUR to the study of EU enlargement and its broader consequences. The main purpose of this workshop was to extend and deepen our knowledge about the nature and effects of post-enlargement migration flows in the EU. The workshop specifically contributed to the broader debate about the interaction of post enlargement migration with the recent economic crisis and adjustment in the labor markets within the Euro zone and the EU as a whole. This was achieved by a combination of Europe-wide perspectives with country case studies covering a number of sending as well as receiving countries. The concluding discussion highlighted the need for further study of post-enlargement migration in European labor markets from both the scientific and policy perspectives.
