Martin Kahanec (Public Policy) comments on European migration policy challenges in Budapest and Brussels

Martin Kahanec (DPP) commented on the challenges and opportunities for migration policy regarding third-country workers in the EU at the EPC Single European Labour Market Project Conference “Making progress towards the completion of the Single European Labour Market” on May 28, 2013, in Brussels. In a panel on "What role for third country nationals in the mobility debate?" he addressed the economic and labor market aspects, calling for a better informed discourse and evidence-based policy-making.

DPP Faculty Nick Sitter has published a new GR:EEN Project paper on NGOs and the Containment Approach to Counter-Terrorism

DPP Faculty Member Nick Sitter has published a working paper co-authored with Tom Parker, CTITF Advisor on Human Rights and Counter Terrorism at the United Nations Counter Terrorism Implementation Task Force.

 

The piece was released in the framework of the GR:EEN Project.

A special double-issue of the International Journal of Manpower with Martin Kahanec (DPP) as a guest editor (with Alan Barrett and Klaus F. Zimmermann) has just been published by Emerald. The double issue features two articles co-authored by Martin Kahanec, one on the "Pitfalls of Immigrant Inclusion into the European Welfare State" (with Anna Myung-Hee Kim and Klaus F. Zimmermann) and another one on "Unemployment Benefits and Immigration: Evidence from the EU" (with Corrado Giulietti, Maritn Guzi and Klaus F. Zimmermann).

Public launch of policy report lead-authored by DPP faculty member Kristina Irion

The Center for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels published the report 'Online Personal Data Processing and the EU Data Protection Reform' which is authored by DPP faculty member Kristina Irion together with Giacomo Luchetta. The findings of the report were presented during the well-attended public launch event on April 8th at CEPS premises.
