Vija Pakalkaite Awarded the CEU Award for Advanced Doctoral Students

Our PhD student, Vija Pakalkaite has been awarded the CEU Award for Advanced Doctoral Students. The Award rewards outstanding student research and requires completion of a significant portion of research that serves as the basis of the dissertation and scholarly presentation of tangible results that directly stem from the research (a draft chapter, a paper); and a GPA of at least 3.5 or the highest placements in the department.

DPP Alumnus Chiloba to Head Kenya's Independent Electoral Commission

CEU alumnus Ezra Chiloba Simiyu (DPP ’08) was named Commission Secretary and CEO of Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on January 12.

 A specialist in electoral governance and political management, Chiloba is former deputy team leader at Drivers for Accountability, a senior fellow at the Policy House and a member of the Law Society of Kenya. He replaces James Oswago and his deputy Wilson Shollei, who were suspended for impropriety in Kenya’s March 2013 elections.
