Martin Kahanec (DPP) has been appointed as one of the two associate editors of the International Journal of Manpower.

The International Journal of Manpower (IJM) is a double-blind reviewed journal provides guidance for those involved at all levels in human resource planning and labour economics. The journal publishes research papers, the results and analysis of which will have implications or relevance to policy makers and practitioners in relevant fields. IJM gives priority to strongly empirical/analytical research papers.

Martin Kahanec (DPP) organized the 6th IZA/ASE Workshop on EU Enlargement and the Labor Markets in Bucharest, Romania, on November 25-26, 2013. The workshop featured the Romanian launch of the International Handbook on the Economics of Migration co-edited by Amelie F. Constant and Klaus F. Zimmermann, with a contribution by Martin Kahanec on "Labor mobility in an enlarged European Union". Presentations covering several countries in South-Eastern Europe provided deep insights into their labor and migration issues.

The CEU Press title Accidental Occidental, by Lajos Bokros, professor at CEU’s Center for Policy Studies, member of the European Parliament, and former Hungarian minister of finance, has been selected as an Outstanding Academic Title by Choice Magazine. Choice is the premier source for reviews of academic books, electronic media, and Internet resources of interest to those in higher education.
