The Department of Public Policy (DPP) is happy to announce that Open Society University Network (OSUN) has approved funding for the second year of the DPP Policy Lab project – Learning by Doing: Policy Labs and Civic Engagement. With over 230,000 USD, the funding will support the continuing partnership between students and faculty at CEU, the University of Central Asia and the Geneva Graduate Institute. Led by Associate Professor Andrew Cartwright, the project will continue to produce teaching materials, share expert resources, collaborate on joint projects and work with our partners to produce high quality and engaged policy research. Aside from allowing faculty exchange, this year’s funding will also mean that students from CEU and GGI will take part in the annual peer-to-peer conference, and as was agreed at the last such meeting in Budapest, will be hosted by AUCA at the great Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. Another significant advantage of the extension in funding is that we can now invite a new partner to join us from OSUN. We are currently in advanced stage of negotiations with the Department of Political Studies and Public Administration at the American University of Beirut and even though the situation there is very hard, we are hopeful that we will be able to welcome AUB to the Policy Lab program in the new year.
