Body Imaging as Captured by Photographer Abby Robinson

Body Imaging by Abby Robinson

Some people walk in knowing exactly what they want to have photographed. For others, it's a spur-of-the-moment decision – sometimes prompted by a consultation with photographer Abby Robinson.

An artist and professor at the School of Visual Arts in New York, Robinson has set up Body Imaging installations in New York, Las Vegas, and Shanghai. Each location presents challenges – and opportunities. Robinson says that there are similarities though. "I get asked most often to photograph eyes and hands," she reports. Early reports suggest that necks and ears are especially popular at CEU.

Robinson is seeing "patients" at CEU through June 7 in her "office" in Nador 11, Room 002. A dozen people showed up yesterday for walk-in appointments between 3 and 6 pm. Each patient leaves Abby's office with a picture in a plastic badge that they can wear around their neck. At the end of the exhibit, Robinson will combine all of the pictures to create an installation that will be exhibited at SPP in honor of Founding Dean Wolfgang H. Reinicke who is stepping down as dean in summer 2016.
