Co-founded by six School of Public Policy (SPP) and the Department of Public Policy (DPP) students, the Policy Cafe brings together students from SPP and DPP to discuss key policy issues. “I wanted to bring our discussions offline in an open roundtable setting,” commented Nuruddin Ahmed (MPA '16). The cafe provides a welcoming atmosphere for debates on today’s global concerns.
“We come from such diverse backgrounds,” said Saman Sardar (MPA ’16) about her classmates. “We needed a space to talk about our experiences, and the Policy Cafe is the perfect place to exchange ideas and opinions on various topics.”
The topic of the most recent Policy Cafe was sex trafficking, moderated by Shaileshwori Sharma (MPA '16). David Hughes (MPA ’16), Shreya Bhattacharya (MPA ’16), and Camille Hesterberg (DPP ’15) gave short presentations that sparked active debate among attendees.
