Tautvydas Juskauskas (MPA ’15) took home second place at the Falling Walls Lab in Ljubljana, Slovenia for his work on estimating crowd sizes using drones. Falling Walls Labs are held in numerous cities around the world and provide young academics and professionals with opportunities to present their innovative ideas, research, and initiatives.
During a public lecture hosted by the Center for Media, Data and Society (CMDS) on March 19, Sharath Srinivasan took both an empirical and theoretical approach to explore how digital technology is both facilitating and, he argued, “displacing the motivation to participate in politics and take action.”
Alison Powell posed a number of interesting questions during her public lecture on March 12 hosted by the Center for Media, Data and Society (CMDS). Her talk focused on how datafication influences the transformation of cities, what role brokers play in the making of cities, and on the shift in the meaning of citizenship.
