"States have neglected the environmental aspects of their fiduciary duty," said Erasmus Mundus Visiting Scholar Klaus Bosselmann. He went on to note that the greatest threat to humanity today is not terrorism, but climate change. Despite the threat that climate change poses, there is no sense of urgency among the public – or among the negotiators who will be gathering for the COP21 meeting in Paris next week.

Jean-Arnold Vinois gave a thoughtful and informative keynote address at CEU on Friday, October 2. The occasion was the official launch of Andreas Goldthau and Nick Sitter’s new book, “A Liberal Actor in a Realist World: The European Union Regulatory State and the Global Policy Economy of Energy” (Oxford University Press, 2015).
“It is the book I published with Brookings Press centered on key challenges in global energy governance that led to my involvement with the G7 meetings,” says Andreas Goldthau.
In a faculty research seminar at the School of Public Policy (SPP) on March 26, Visiting Professor Elena Krumova presented her research on organizational change within environmental NGOs in Bulgaria over the past 25 years. “I’m asking questions about how environmental NGOs have changed including diversifying funding sources, types of projects, targets, relations with other organizations, and tactics,” she stated.
