SPP Visiting Professor Luicy Pedroza gave a web seminar at the General Secretariat of the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI) to stakeholders in the process of social integration in ALADI member states. ALADI is a regional organization comprising 13 Latin American countries and promotes reciprocal trade and the development of economic cooperation.

"What I especially liked about today's presentation is that it showed how theory works in practice," said Souran Chatterjee, CEU researcher and PhD candidate. Zoltan Kalo drew on his many years of practical experience to explain how investment decisions are made in pharmaceutical R&D. "This is a topic," he said, "that you can never read about in textbooks."

During a public lecture at the School of Public Policy at CEU, author and journalist Abubakar Siddique emphasized regional cooperation as the best remedy against extremism and terrorism. He noted that it would also go a long way toward resolving the complex conflict formation in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
