The School of Public Policy (SPP) at Central European University and the Council of Europe co-organized a five-day immersion workshop for future democratic leaders from the Black Sea region October 6-10, 2014. Thirty-two researchers, policy makers, entrepreneurs, and activists from seven countries traveled to Budapest to participate in a series of engaging discussions to develop practical solutions to regional policy problems in the areas of democratic institution building, security policy, and transition economics.
A recent Financial Times article highlights SPP's role as one of the first universities to pilot the Curriculum Open-access Resources in Economics (CORE) curriculum. SPP recently announced its participation in the CORE project, which Assistant Professor Michael Dorsch will be using in his Economic Analysis core course.
“This is exactly the type of project,” explained School of Public Policy (SPP) Dean Wolfgang H. Reinicke, “that we are eager to embrace at the School. It reflects the serious effort of committed academics and practitioners to develop an economics curriculum that is meaningful and relevant.” Assistant Professor Michael Dorsch was a reviewer for the Curriculum Open-access Resources in Economics (CORE) curriculum and will be using it in his Economic Analysis course at SPP.
