DPP Professor and Head Martin Kahanec spoke in the panel on "Young people in the post COVID-19 labour market: scarring effects, learning losses and emerging opportunities (ESDE 22)" at the European Employment & Social Rights Forum 2022 in Brussels on November 17, 2022. The high-level event featured EC President Ursula von der Leyen, Commissioner Nicolas Schmit, former EC PResident Jean-Claude Juncker, and several MEPs, ministers, academics, and practitioners.

DPP professor and head Martin Kahanec presented at the CEPR Workshop for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Report on September 15-16, 2022. His contribution tackled the questions of reforming Ukrainian education and the role of education in the reconstruction of Ukraine in the aftermath of the Russian invasion.

In a new publication, DPP Associate Professor, Evelyne Hübscher - together with Thomas Sattler (University of Geneva) and Zbigniew Truchlewksi (CEU alumnus, London School of Economics and Political Science) - are asking the question whether voters in some countries are more sensitive to fiscal deficits than in others? According to original survey data from Germany, Spain, and the UK, the answer is yes. These cross-country differences, however, are only evident when assessing respondents’ attitude by party affiliation.
